Can Pi-Pi urinals be repaired if damaged?

Back to FAQ

Minor damage to Pi-Pi urinals (scratches, scuffs):

Cosmetic defects on Pi-Pi urinals can be fixed with light sanding using fine-grit sandpaper (grit 400–600). This does not affect the functionality of the urinals for portable toilets.

Cracks and splits in urinals for portable toilets:

Our Pi-Pi urinals can be repaired using plastic welding (hot air + LLDPE rod, 250–300°C). The cost of professional repair depends on the region — please check with local plastic welding workshops.

When repair of Pi-Pi urinals is not recommended:

  • cracks near the mounting points of the urinals or in high-stress areas
  • damage over a large area (crack longer than 10 cm in the urinal for portable toilets) — replacement is more economically feasible
  • multiple cracks indicating material fatigue of the urinals

Prevention: thanks to the flexibility of the material, most impacts do not result in cracks in Pi-Pi urinals. Main causes of damage to urinals for portable toilets:

  • use of inappropriate cleaning agents on the urinals
  • UV degradation after 7+ years of intensive outdoor use
  • mechanical damage during improper transportation or storage of the urinals

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects of Pi-Pi urinals, but not damage caused by improper use or the use of unsuitable chemicals.

Yes. Pi-Pi urinals are designed for year-round use in the European climate (from −50°C to +60°C). Our Pi-Pi urinals and portable toilet urinals can be stored outdoors in winter.

Winter storage recommendations for portable toilet urinals:

  • Completely drain water: remove water from the siphon and drainage of urinals to prevent freeze damage
  • Storage convenience: lightweight Pi-Pi urinals are easy to move and stack
  • Covering — optional: our portable toilet urinals are resistant to UV degradation, but a tarp will protect against dirt
  • Heating not required: absence of water in urinals eliminates the risk of freeze damage

For rental companies: portable toilet urinals are ideal for seasonal businesses (festivals, construction sites) as off-season storage is simple and does not require chemical treatments or heated facilities for portable toilet urinals.
